“BEING PHYSICALLY ACTIVE & DOING EXERCISE HELPS TO KEEP BONES STRONG & HEALTHY THROUGHOUT LIFE. THAT’S BECAUSE YOUR BONES ARE LIVING TISSUES THAT GET STRONGER WHEN YOU USE THEM.” Royal Osteoporosis Society
- This class is suitable for all wishing to reduce their risk of bone fragility and also those with Osteopenia or Osteoporosis.
- The exercises aim to strengthen the main joints and the spine by doing lots of balance work. We also look at alignment, breathing, posture and stretching as these are vital in ensuring good overall mobility for our everyday living.
- The spine, wrists and hips are common areas for risk of fracture and so the Pilates for Stronger Bones class guides you through *modified* Pilates exercises that specifically focus on promoting the bone and muscle strength in these areas of the body.
*modified* Pilates because many of the traditional Pilates exercises are not suitable for those with Osteoporosis.
